I think I have the deal of the week. I couldn't believe it but who was honestly going to argue with it. April 2004 I had bought 2 new 70,000 mile tires for my car. April of 2005 I bought 2 - 50,000 mile tires for the back of my car. All with warranties since I didnt want to have to pay for a repair and the warranty was inexpensive enough. Two weeks ago I had to have my brakes checked, they were making a funny noise.
I went into a local Les Schwab and they were telling me that there was nothing wrong with the brakes. Well, that was a relief since I was about to head out of town to Ocean Shores. But, the guy said, "Your back two tires are shot." I thought to myself that was really funny, I just bought them not to long ago...so I headed over to the tire company where I had bought the tires. I took in my receipts so he could see what I had done and he walked out to my car with me. He looked at me and said, "These back 2 tires aren't even our tires." I said, "That's funny, since I should have 4 newer tires of yours on my car." Basically what happened was they were to warranty the original 2 tires (70,000 mile ones) and put on the 2 new 50,000 mile tires on the back. What they did was replaced the 70,000 mile tires with the 50,000 mile tires and didnt replace the ones they were supposed to at all.
The Guy at Discount Tires who helped me looked at me and said, "Here is what we are going to do...we are going to put new 70,000 mile tires on your car all the way around at no charge with a warranty and get you on your way." I couldn't believe what I was hearing but I was not going to argue. Discount Tires (a different store than this one) had messed up and they were honoring the mistake and making up for it. They had me in and out in a full house of cars within an hour and we were on the road out of town. I think I got a very good deal there....
A Big THANKS to John at Discount Tires who made our day and weekend!
