I recently attended a Ben Fold's concert at the Paramount in Seattle. What a neat concert. For only having heard a little bit of his music and of course liking it. His concert, although small in numbers for a band, was fantastic! Ben Folds, a bass guitarist and a percussionist were excellent. They had great audience involvement. For what I thought was only an hour turned out to be 2 and a half hours later. Chris Mills opened for Ben Folds. He was a one man show on the guitar. He was very good as well. I am going to have to track down his music and have a good listen.
Ben Folds has done songs with William Shatner as well but none of those were performed. Probably because it just wouldn't be the same if William Shatner wasn't actually performing.
I was surprised for all the music Ben Folds sings and the language content that he is going to be doing a song for an upcoming Dreamworks film "Over the Hedge". Without the language in a few of his songs they are almost appropriate in content for everyone. But then there are one or two songs that wouldnt have lyrics at all if they didn't have swear words. :)
Definitely worth looking up and listening to if you want to hear something different. It doesn't matter what age you are this is music for everyone.
I have been to concerts in the past with the flashy lights, lasers, costumes. Nothing prepared me for this concert. Ben Folds was "down to earth". There were no strobe lights or flashing this or change of costumes there. It was him and his music. If you ever get the chance to see him in concert I recommend that you do. It was worth it.
