I don't think boys ever grow into true men. Do they ever grow out of thinking bodily function noises aren't funny? I have no problem with it. It's just funny. All my guy friends talk about and make bodily function noises, as well as, laugh and snicker when someone else does it near them or in the same room within hearing distance.
With my son I have no problem with it. That's one of the ways I get him to wake up with a smile on his face. Sometimes I have to make "true" noises myself in order to get his attention. Not that I would ever admit this to anyone else. Between flatulating, burping, armpit flatulence, and tickling until the threat of having to use the bathroom or flatulating becomes what is going to happen, I see it as using all the resources I have at my disposal.
I had to laugh one morning recently I was waking him up and we were talking about facing his back end towards the wall and farting he could propel himself right out of bed on his own gas. He chuckled when all of a sudden he got up on all fours with his back side toward the wall and started a countdown from 10--9--8--7--6--5--4--3--2--1 making a big scene out of this when all of a sudden all we heard was this slight swoosh of only air. He looks at me and says, "Ummm....Houston we have a problem,"
I must have sat and laughed for a good 2 minutes before I could compose myself enough to have him finish getting up and ready for school.
