Only Piece of Parental Advice

I've learned the hardway like most parents who have to work that having that valuable time with your kids is priceless especially when you are forced to have to work since ours is a single income household. One of my co-workers had a baby just a few days ago and he keeps coming back to me for suggestions on how to do things or advice.

Then one of our lenders started calling and asking me for information on potty training and we got into talking about the conversations you have to have with your kids regarding sex and drugs. He was telling me how he was already practicing his well rehearsed speech. I chuckled and told him not to bother that he would stutter through it no matter what. He was also telling me that potty training was stressing him out and his kids weren't even ready to begin. I chuckled and told him as long as he was consistent it was going to be easy....not to stress it. He asked me if there was anything he should stress about. I laughed and told him yes.....

That is how he is going to spend as much time as he possibly can with his kids without letting work or finances take over. He questioned that a bit and I explained how much time I had missed with my son because I had to work. Now if I regret anything that would be it.

Now I take as much time as I can to be with my son and I miss the time I wasnt able to do that when he was younger. Everything else will come together....You can't get time back so use it to the best of your ability while you have it and Have fun!
