What happened to this week? It has gone by so fast! It started with Mr. Frogman crossing over from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. What a turn out. If you are involved in scouts and have gone through this process you know what I mean. They have to accomplish many things to earn their Arrow of Light and move forward. The most challenging for Mr. Frogman had to be the conference with the Scout Master of his new Troop. He was stressed out about it studying and practicing the Scout Oath and Law, wanting to be sure he got it right, knowing the uniform and the differences, knowing the symbol and able to define each part. Then being able to know it if someone asks you. But I am so proud of him. I listened in from the other side of the wall at the coffee shop we met the Scoutmaster at and Mr. Frogman didn't miss a beat.
The Crossover Turnout was incredible. Mr. Frogman and his Best Friend from school crossed over there were at least 15 guys from their new Troop that showed up to welcome them in. Not only that but for 5 boys crossing over there were over 100 people. Last year there were only about 50. This years turnout exceeded many peoples expectations.
At the same time Cross over is happening I am also supposed to be at a parent information night for Mr. Frogman to go to Camp Casey for 3 days with his class. Leader went to the meeting for me and came back with 5 pages of handwritten notes. The time line on Camp Casey had been moved up! I had to have all his stuff at the school by Friday not on Monday like I was originally told. That was 2 days away! On top of that Mr. Frogman had an evening outing with his dad, which left me getting him packed and ready.
So Monday morning he is out and away for 3 days. Little does he know that I am going to drive up for Campfire and then go home. He is going to have a great time!
