He slowly ran his hands up and down over her shoulders. He was rubbing in sunscreen. It was a warm day. She let her head drop forward as his hands worked their magic over the taut muscles that sometimes never seemed to relax. She hummed an "mmmmm...." she would let him do this all day.
Those strong hands just rough enough from hard work but smooth enough to massage her cares away.
As the sun shone down, she lifted her head looking down the beach to the water. The waves lapping at the beach. The beach was relatively empty for this time of day. They almost had it all to themselves. He wrapped his arms around her from his seat behind her. She leaned back into the strong strength of his chest and arms. She was safe and comfortable. A far cry from where she was a week ago.
She picked up the sunscreen and started putting more on her arms and legs. He stilled her hands and had her lean back against him. He hugged her from behind and just held her. They had been through so much in such a short amount of time. Not sure how long this moment of peace would last. They had to go back to the real world, but not yet.
What happens next?
Does the real world intrude or do they stay in their temporary cocoon of peacefulness?
Until Next Time
