Birthday Wish

Staring down at the pen I was using...clicking the tip out and in, click...click...click...click...click...click in rapid repeated succession.
Thinking to myself, "what do you think you are going to do with that?"  Still clicking and unsure, it had been so long since I have used one of these communication devices.

Most of my daily communication is via text or email.  It has been quite some time since I have picked up a pen and paper to write a special note to someone I have been thinking of.  One of my baby sisters turned 40 this year.  She has moved to the east coast for her job.  I wanted to send her something more than a text message or email to wish her a happy birthday.  I was going to send her a very special birthday card for her special day and follow up with some flowers.  As I sat down to write out how much I miss her and wanted her to have a great birthday, I found myself writing the following note:

"My Dearest Sister,

I want to wish you a very Happy Birthday!  I had hoped I could give you this wish in person!  You are missed!  I know you are doing well! I hope you are truly spoiled on your very special day! I am writing this to you and staring at this pen as I click it open and closed, open and closed open and closed.  I have no idea what to write in this card...I am going to send you an email and text!  Those I know how to do!  I Love you Sis! Happy Birthday!

Your dorky, doesn't know how to use a pen Sister!"

I really struggled with what to say, it had been so long since I had written a letter.

(She has 3 sisters, I didn't put a return address on the envelope...She may not know who its from)  :)

Until Next Time
